In Memory

We are saddened to report that Magnum guide, Corey Kovar, lost his battle with bile duct cancer today, July 11, 2009. He is now in heaven and no longer in pain. Please remember the Kovar family in your prayers and thank you all for your love and support. We feel so close to our staff and clients that we are compelled to share these postings with all of you to honor those that have gone on before us. God Bless you all.

We will be in prayer for Donnie and Jim . I used to teach an old people's Sunday school class. One of the older ladies said no one can realize the hurt unless they have lost a child when she lost her second one. Corey was a good and kind young man.

WE WILL ALWAYS CHERISH THE WONDERFUL HUNT THAT JIM SET UP FOR OUR FAMILY WITH THE KOVAR FAMILY AS OUR GUIDES SO PERFECTLY MATCHED DONNIE WITH BO, COREY WITH ROBERT, CASEY WITH JK, AND JIM WITH BEVERLY. COREY MADE ROBERT SO COMFORTABLE HE TREATED HIM AS A FRIEND AND NOT JUST ANOTHER HUNTER (AND FOUGHT A LOT OF FIRES WHEN NOT HUNTING). THE WHOLE FAMILY DID THAT. THIS HUNT WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN OUR HEARTS. THANKS FOR BEING OUR FRIEND COREY, WE MISS YOU. MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL, REMEMBER THE POWER AND STRENGTH OF PRAYER.

We are sad to here about Corey. We will keep the Kovar family in our prayers. We will also be thinking of Jim and know he will find the words needed in our Lord Jesus.

I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with Corey. He was very dedicated to making sure we were having a good time and were successful in our hunt. I think he was more excited than I was when I harvested my 1st rio. He was trying so hard to get the little boy from Tennessee a turkey. My prayers are with the family and also with Jim as he gives his message. I know that will be tough from him to do.

I’m sorry to hear about Corey losing his battle with cancer. Donnie, Craig, Casey and the rest of the Kovar family will definitely be in my prayers. I know that the Kovars have been a big part of the larger “family” at Magnum and this loss will be felt beyond the borders of TX.

Pam and I are very sad by this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with Donnie and his family. Jim and Melony and all of Magnum Guide's family have lost a fine young man. It has been a priviledge to hunt with Coery and Donnie for many years now. God bless you all.

I had great fun when I was hunting whitetails in 2007 because Corey was so patient with me on my hunt. I will always remember him and that hunt....it was special.
