At Magnum Guide Service, we believe the future of hunting depends on the next generation. That’s why we offer youth hunts that are built on safety, education, and good old-fashioned time in the field. Our experienced guides work one-on-one with young hunters, helping them gain real skills, confidence, and respect for the outdoors.

More than a hunt

Teaching Tradition, Safety, and Success.

With over 30 years of professional guiding experience, our team has helped hundreds of young hunters safely and successfully take their first big game animals. We guide each youngster with patience, encouragement, and personalized attention — focusing not just on pulling the trigger, but on understanding the full hunting experience.

Our youth hunts aren’t “watered down” versions of the real thing — they’re genuine, challenging hunts with an emphasis on safety, ethics, and success. Young hunters will learn everything from wildlife identification and tracking to safe firearm handling and responsible shot placement, all under the close supervision of our professional guides.

Parents are encouraged to join their kids in the field, making every hunt a shared experience rooted in tradition, respect, and family values.

Years Guiding

“We have consistently hunted with Jim for the past five years and every hunt is a special time to bond with my sons. Jim and his team always go the extra mile to ensure each hunt is fun and successful. He and his team have a unique ability to connect with kids as they experience the wonderful world of hunting. If you want to witness your son or daughter experience that unforgettable “buck fever” sensation in a Christ-centered environment, I can think of no better place than Magnum Guide Service.”

Youth Hunt FAQs

At what age can my child participate?

Youth hunters typically start around 8 years old, but readiness depends on maturity, safety awareness, and local regulations.

What species can youth hunters pursue?

We offer opportunities for whitetail deer, hogs, javelina, Rio Grande turkeys, and select exotic species depending on the season.

Is hunter education required?

Yes. A valid Hunter Education Certificate is required for all youth hunters unless exempt by age or regulation.

Can a parent or guardian accompany the youth hunter?

Absolutely — and it’s encouraged! We want parents involved to share the experience and memories.
